Personally this game got me into final fantasy when I was a kid, and I love the remastered version even more. This game is better than I remember! This is definitely worth checking out.

The game has had updates that have worsened the control scheme. It needs the implementation the mobile Dragon Quest hames have. The d-pad is ridiculously large and doesnt appear except when you touch the screen. An overall bad design that detracts from the flow of the game.
Please dont listen to poor reviews, I almost made the mistake of skipping this version based on the bad reviews about the controls. It controls just fine! Get used to not having a physical D-pad and you will do just fine. This is a great port of the Final Fantasy that started it all, well worth the nostalgia. Also I love the updated graphics that still match the old school look. If your interested in reliving this game or want to play for first time definitely buy it.
Great game but theres is a glitch after I beat Chaos and at the end of the credits the game crashes which does not allow me to finish the game :(
I have the iPhone 6s and just have beaten the game only to find that at the end credits the game crashes and Im not allowed to save my game for new game plus.
Dont know why this hasnt been addressed, the game is great except you cannot move, especially right....
The game a great as ever. Sadly the control scheme is terrible. SquareEnix needs to take a page from their Dragon Quest series and implement the controls for those games. Also, not full screen but has bars on the sides of the screen.
The game has great updated visuals and is very fun too play. Highly recommend it. Unfortunately the the controls are the worst. What it needs is a D-Pad that stays on the screen and can be adjusted instead of the current one that dissapears. Screen orientation would also be welcomed.
The very first FF game I ever played was FF IV Advance about 10 plus yeas ago. That game took me on such a trippy nostalgia filled joyride, bringing me back to the late 90s when I would stay up many hours past my bedtime hiding in my closet to play Pokemon red and blue on my gameboy pocket. Since then I only played a few FF titles including FF X, Crystal Chronicles, and Tactics Advance. So Im pretty much going back and starting from the beginning until I have every FF game on the App Store. That being said, the original FF is completely flawless in every way. I havent experienced ANY of the problems other reviewers experienced. Aside from the end credits freezing (big deal). If youre around my age (25) then Im sure this will send you strolling down memory lane as well. BUY IT!!!!‼️‼️‼️‼️ Update: game still runs perfectly!!
Please fix the controls. Its a pain to move right when I can only move at a snails pace.
This is what I wanted. The old school game in all its glory. I would have given it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, but it has two things I really dont like. 1st. Is the d-pad. It is centered over the character so you cannot see where you are going very well and the right direction is very touchy. You have to have a very precise touch to go more then one step 2nd. You can not save it and then play on another device. Which is a bummer as I remember the game is long and it would be very nice to play on my phone and tablet. All in all, Im still going to play, but I wish these two issues would be addressed, especially the d-pad.If they are updated I will give 5 stars.
I paid for this crap! Fix the fricking controls already. People have been complaining for months! Ill never buy another SE game again. Fix it!!!
I am upgrading to the iPhone 7 and just realized that this game doesnt support iCloud for saves. What am I supposed to do to keep my saved game without jail breaking?
Is there a better RPG game out there, no card games. I love final fantasy I have been plating since the very first one. Also a game called dragon warrior. What have they done to actual RPGs if I can fine one better please contact me @ smulzoff at yahoo Thats fir reading this any any time u spend finding & forwarding me Again with my sincere gratitude Sue
Great Early rpg for those who are a fan of the series. Story is basic compared to later entries in the series, but if you want a mobile ff experience, this should satisfy the craving. My biggest complaint is the game lacks transfer or cross-play to iPad/iphone, etc. this seems necessary for a title available across devices in the same hardware family
[iPone 6] This is the best graphic version available. (PSP Quality)The quick-tap battle menu is a great addition, selection response time is a tiny bit slow, but hardly noticeable. I love that they did speed up character movement while on the world map (you get where youre going much quicker) The large Joypad that disappears immediately once you lift your thumb off the screen, yeah, not a big deal. It doesnt ruin the game one pixelated bit. The one thing I do utilized a lot that they dont have in this version is the ability to change the color of the text Windows. I let friends play and make their own party combinations and the colors helped us to distinguish between each game save file. If they added even a small list of pre-selected colors, no need to add the entire color wheel, I would be happier-er! ;-) P.S. You should buy it!...Now! :-D
Just as good as when I was a kid. I LOVE THIS GAME!!
Ive been level grinding for the past hour and have never been happier. This game works perfectly with no issues. Ignore the half wits complaining about "floating d-pads", "screen boarders" and being "unplayable". This is why stupid should not breed. If your a fan of the series and want to play it from the beginning, this is the game for you. You can save anywhere. Also, the game will pause it self if you switch out of the application and you can resume where you left off as long as your phone stays powered on. This game is completely playable and thoroughly enjoyable.
[iPhone 6S+] Overall, love it. 30+ hours logged, Ive beaten the game and every optional boss. Bigger screens are definitely helpful, played wonderfully on my plus. My only gripe is that it has a fixed orientation (couldnt play with the headphone jack on the left side).
Loved this game as a kid and grabbed it as a time waster. The controls are bad, not unplayable annoying. In hellfire chasm trying to get past the wandering nice was atrocious and if you have to land the airship in a precise spot just fly further and walk. Also I cant seem to find how to bring up the world map.
