D-Pad is horrible

I very much enjoy the enhanced graphics. The only thing—the ONLY thing thats preventing me from playing anymore (tolerated this problem long enough to get my party to level 10) is the directional pad. I just bought and finished FFiii and the D-pad in that game was flawless. Why couldnt that one be implemented in this one? Will definitely change to a five star if this is improved—and will restart and continue this game if and when that happens.
